Kumeu Brass Auxillary Band Musical Director: Claire Bymolt
The band, which has been in existence for 5 years under conductor Claire Bymolt, will be competeing in the Youth section of
the competition for the first time this year. Rehearsals have been going well, with the band particularly enjoying
practicing their own choice test piece, written especially for the band by Steven Booth.
The intensive rehearsals required for contest preparation are a new experience for the players, most of whom are under the
age of 14. A particular highlight of the band's preparation has been a workshop with ‘The Trusts' Waitakere Brass, where
the Auxillary band benefited from the experience of this top band.
