More about John
John's musical background very much stems from his association with The Salvation Army, where he worked with players on all levels over a ten-year period. Since then, John has benefitted hugely through mentorship from both Allan Withington and Ray Farr.
He had a highly successful two-year period with the Co-operative Milnrow Band, establishing it as a top-six ranked group in the notoriously competitive North West region, and leading it to a comprehensive win at the 2009 Senior Trophy.
In recent years, he has conducted projects with both Reg Vardy and Leyland Bands (with guest soloists), directed a number of prize winning performances with several bands and undertaken rehearsal work with several of the UK's very finest groups.
