Roger's remarks included the finishing comment of "This is without doubt the best playing (so far) I have heard all weekend", whilst David sated "This has the excitement we've been looking for all day."
The win gave Broxburn the title, whilst on a personal basis it gave stalwart horn player Alan Edmond his third national quartet title in his long career. Alan told 4BR, "This has been a long time coming, but it shows who hard and serious the band as a whole takes the event. We enjoyed the piece and felt we put in a good performance. To receive such praise from the likes of Roger Webster and David Thornton meant a great deal to us."
