28-Sep-2005The Windcorp Band are a new name in Swedish banding
The exciting press release from the bands reads as follows:
A new brass band has been founded in Sweden. The Windcorp Brass Band is the newest addition to the banding scene in Sweden.
The initiative was taken by trombonists Andreas Kratz and Anders Hellman to gather bandsmen from all over southern Sweden into this new brass band. All members have played together on other occasions earlier, and their common denominator is simply the love of brass banding at a high quality level.

The Windcorp Brass Band has its home base in Gothenburg and has during its first season managed to affiliate one of the truly rising stars in the conducting business – Alexander Hanson. Alexander was raised within the Salvation Army where he started playing the cornet at an early age.
His conducting skills were achieved at the world-famous Sibelius Academy and he is presently the Artistic Director of Göteborgsmusiken (a professional wind ensemble in Gothenburg). To bandsmen abroad, his father Torgny is a well-known profile both as an adjudicator and a conductor/instructor.
Windcorp Brass Band makes its first appearance in a concert on Sunday 30 October and will also participate in the Swedish Brass Band Championships two weeks later. Read more about the band at www.windcorpbrassband.se".
Best wishes to you all!
