Dinnington set to stay afloat
30-Jul-2009Following ther news that Sue Perkins and the BBC are trying to save Dinnington Colliery Band, they have floated a new campaign or two...
So far in an attempt to recruit new members to the Dinnington Colliery Band, presenter Sue Perkins and the programme's production team has hit the streets, local radio and even got the band to play on a back of a float which was driven around the streets of Sheffield during their music festival!
They’ve had a great response (Sue played bongos on the float) and found some very exciting young talent but they have a few positions that still need filling.
Childs help
Sue has also enlisted the help of Dr Nick Childs to help guide her and the band along the way. Nick will be acting as a musical consultant on the show and will help coach and direct the band.
