Cobham at the Abbey
6-Aug-2009The Cobham Band recently performed at Westminster Abbey to help keep 40 days of rain away!
Canon Jane Hedges recently welcomed the Cobham Band back for a second year to play as part of the season of free summer band concerts in Westminster Abbey's college gardens.
Dark clouds
But as a number of dark clouds loomed ominously, she warned the band that as they were playing on St Swithin's Day, if it rained, they could be responsible for a further 40 days of deluge!

Blazing
The crowd of lunchtime picnickers may have fearfully looked up at the skies but under Musical Director David Ruel, the band gave a blazing performance - although the rain in the following days did fall with a vengence at times.
The band have already been invited to play again as part of next year's season and have enthusiastically accepted for what has become a popular fixture.
