4BR has been informed of the death of Tony Daniels, the popular euphonium player who performed with a number of bands in the North West of England. Tony passed away on 22nd September.

Popular

Tony originally played trombone before moving on to euphonium, whilst his early playing career saw him perform with the Royal Oakley and Edge Hill Bands. He later played at City of Chester, Point of Ayr Colliery, Swinton, Besses o' th' Barn, Wingates, Wire Brass, Leyland, and Pemberton, and was a most welcome and popular bandsman who would help any band out at even the shortest of notice.

Privileged

His daughter told 4BR: "My dad also helped out many other bands over the years, and I was privileged to be able to play with him in Wire Brass, Wingates and the reformed Point of Ayr Colliery Band.

We often enjoyed practicing together at home, particularly, ‘The Playmates’ duet. He inspired me to become the player I am today and he shared my love of music. Not only was he mye and my brother's loving dad, but also a true bandsman."

The family would appreciate it if anybody who knew Tony and wishes to play at the funeral could contact the funeral director4BR
