Coleshill to celebrate with a bang!

Coleshill plan to celebrate their tenth anniversary in style this weekend.

A night to remember is promised in Coleshill this weekend as members of the Coleshill Town Band mark the 10th anniversary of their Fire & Brass spectacular with a band and a peal of bells!

Ground breaking

In a ground breaking move Coleshill Town Band plan to bring the evening to a close with peals from the parish church accompanying the 1812 Overture as synchronised fireworks light the night sky – the first time this has been attempted in Britain.

With music ranging from the Pirates of the Caribbean to Pomp and Circumstance with a bit of Westlife thrown in for good measure, a programme to suit all tastes is planned.

Fingers crossed

More of the band’s funds have been invested in more professional pa and staging equipment to ensure that the 10th anniversary event really gets the people of Coleshill talkingClaire Pilkington

With fingers firmly crossed organisers are hopeful of a dry evening as crowds flock to set up picnic tables on the Croft in Coleshill with around 1500 people expected.

A set of brass band concert music will start the evening with a short break before party music guaranteed to get the revellers in celebratory mood.

A rousing proms set will follow before the grand fireworks finale.

Speaking to 4BR about the celevration, Colehill's Claire Pilkington said “More of the band’s funds have been invested in more professional pa and staging equipment to ensure that the 10th anniversary event really gets the people of Coleshill talking”.

Tickets still available

Although they are selling fast, tickets priced at £7.50 for adults and £2.00 are still available, via the band’s website, Coleshill Library or Gascoignes in Coleshill. There will be a £1.00 price increase for tickets bought on the gate.
