Gourlay to Open for Desford

Desford to team up with James Gouraly for British Open and National Finals.

After their recent runner up placing at the All England International Masters, Desford Colliery Band has announced that they will be teaming up with James Gourlay for the British Open and National Finals later in the year.

First class

A spokesman commented to 4BR: "The band is thrilled to have secured James’ services for Birmingham and London. He is a first-class conductor and has an excellent track record at both these events in the past."

Meanwhile, James Gourlay added: "I am delighted to be working with Desford, a band which I have admired for many years."

The band's defence of their Masters title was spearheaded by Australian Jason Katsikaris, told 4BR: "I had the best time working with the band. Desford is a unique organisation which, on minimal rehearsal, delivers a standard of performance that is first rate."
