4BR has teamed up with Geneva Musical Instruments for the chance to win a fantastic state of the art Geneva Symphony Cornet.

The National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain takes place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Saturday 11th October starting at 10.00am and there is a superb line up of 20 of the finest bands in the UK all hoping to be crowned 2014 National Champion after performing ‘The Legend of King Arthur’ by Peter Meechan.

All you have to do is pick the same band as the three judges in the box and and you will be in the hat to see if you will be the lucky winner of a wonderful Geneva Symphony cornet.

You have to get your answer into us before the start of the awards ceremony on Saturday evening (11th October).

We will be watching out for any sneaky tries to win the prize after the new champions have been announced!

Frome Town Band

April 25 • Frome Town Band seeks a new Musical Director. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled musician with experience of running ensembles and events, who has an enthusiasm for and a vision towards developing the organisation as a community resource.


Sherborne Town Band

April 24 • Exciting opertunity for a principal cornet player to lead our friendly band. We also would be excited to hear from percussionists with experience in tuned percussion and kit. We are currently in the Championship section and have a busy schedule in 2024.


CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 24 • We have lots of cornets and horns but a little thin in the bottom end. Our players are happy to move around to help new players join the band, if you play baritone, euph or bass please give us a try. We rehearse every Sunday and Thursday at 7.30pm
