SW Comms
SW Comms warmed up for their National Finals appearance with their fifth straight win

There was plenty of fine brass band entertainment of show at the recent Exmouth Entertainments Contest held at the town's Pavilion Theatre.

SW Comms warmed up for their Cheltenham National Finals appearance by notching up their fifth consecutive victory under MD Chris Spreadbury, as they managed to repel the strong challenge of Weston Brass with a delighted Redruth Town in third. They also claimed the awards for 'Best Entertainment' and 'Best Trombones'.

Excellent Redruth

It certainly proved to be an excellent day for Redruth Town, as they beat off a host of higher graded rivals to claim their podium spot behind two very strong rivals.

Section awards went to SW Comms (First), Weston Brass (Second), South Molton (Third), Redruth (Fourth) and Camelford Town (Unregistered).

Fantastic experience

Their band spokesperson told 4BR: "It was a fantastic experience and a lovely way to say goodbye to three of our players who are leaving to join either First or Championship Section bands. We wish them well."
