Druid's Playtime

There's a strange but very interesting job on offer. Interested?

Druid’s Fanfare

Fancy something more than a little different? The chance to dress up in a funny costume, take part in strange rituals, listen to a very odd language and play few nice ditties to bring the masses to order?

Well it’s not a part in the next version of “Lord of the Rings” but the very real opportunity to take an active and well televised role in the National Eisteddfod of Wales as a Ceremonial Fanfare Trumpet Player.

The Eisteddfod is looking for two brass players to play the fanfares at the Eisteddfod ceremonies such as the famous Crowning, Chairing and Proclamation. The uniform is provided, as is the ceremonial trumpet plus a small remuneration and costs incurred in travel etc. The event will require you to playing for one day in June and then four or five times during the week of the Eisteddfod itself. The television cameras are always there so you’ll get to be seen and heard all over the World.

You don’t have to be a Welsh speaker and the music is not written in our strange Celtic tongue either. So if you fancy something more than a little different, then contact Alan Gwynant, National Eistedffod of Wales, 40, Parc Ty Glas, Llanishen, Cardiff. CF14 5WU or telephone 02920 2074 1701. e mail— or visit the website on www.eisteddfod.org.uk
