Leyland Band have announced that Garry Cutt will spearhead their assualt on this years English Masters.

Commenting on the news Garry Cutt stated that he was very pleased with the work the band put in during the week leading up to the Area Contest, and was looking forward to working with the band on Pageantry.

Robert Westacott, the Bands Principal Cornet issued the press release which expressed their delight at the appointment following the successful qualification for the National Finals at Blackpool.

"Buy As You View" Cory are rumoured to have put their faith in "Harrison's Dream", the test piece that saw them secure the National title last year, as their own choice selection for this years European Championship.

The music by Peter Graham is one of best test pieces written in the last few years, and saw Cory give a brilliant performance in winning the National title by two clear points at the Albert Hall last October.

Yorkshire Building Society are rumoured to signed up Ian Brownbill from Rothwell Temperance to help out on the front row for the Europeans, but have failed in geting Les McCormack to join on solo horn.

No news at the moment at what their choice of test piece is though or from Ransomes. Two or more from the pen of Peter Graham though?

Graham Boag BA (Hons) LTCL has been appointed the new resident conductor of Camborne Band in Cornwall, a week before their attempt to win the West of England Championships, where Frank Renton takes them.

David Loukes ex — resident at Black Dyke has also been helping out of late with the preperation. Graham Boax was recently with Hanwell in London is about to leave the Central Band of the RAF.
