The European Brass Band Association has issued a press release and news letter through 4BarsRest, giving full details of this years European Championship weekend — including the own choice test pieces to be played, the bands, the soloists and the judges.

EUROPEAN BRASS BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS EBBC 2001 and 2nd EUROPEAN SOLOIST’S COMPETITION ESC, May 2nd — May 5th, 2001 in Montreux, Switzerland

The 2001 European Brass Band Championships and the 2nd European Soloist’s Competition as side event will take place from Wednesday, May 2nd — May 5th, 2001 in Montreux, Switzerland.

Side event of the EBBC 2001, this year is the 2nd European Soloist’s Competition.. 63 participants applied for from following countries: 3 from Austria, 1 from Australia, 5 from Belgium, 1 from Bulgaria, 2 from Denmark, 2 from England, 7 from the Netherlands, 2 from Norway, 1 from Spain, 38 from Switzerland, 1 from the USA. Unfortunately the Quartet Competition had to be cancelled. There was only one application.
