Hawk Green get a new MD for Xmas

JR takes up the baton at Hawk Green

The Hawk Green Band have announced that they have just appointed John Richardson as their new MD. The Press Release reads as follows:

The band and committee of Hawk Green are pleased to announce that John Richardson is taking over as the permanent Musical Director with immediate effect. John who is Head of Physics at a local senior school was an ex-euphonium player with Marple Band in the days when Gary Cutt took them to the Championship section, has been taking the band over the last 18 months in a caretaker role, with some reputable success.

Both the band and he feel that it is time he took on the role permanently which should lead to long term stability and quality rehearsals. Everyone in the band and the village wish him all the best in the years to come.
