ISB Basses celebrate 10 years in the depths

ISB Big Boys celebrate a decade of blowing below the stave.

The celebrated bass section of the International Staff Band of the Salvation Army will be celebrating this January when they reach their 10th anniversary providing the foundations for the bands great performances.

The quartet is made up of Michael Calland from the Hendon Corps who has been with the ISB for some 16 years, Carl Woodman from Chatham Corps who reaches his 10th year this January, Martin Tiplady from Hendon who joined the ISB 13 years ago and Trevor Cafful, from Croydon Corps who also joined within two weeks of Martin 13 long years ago.

The fantastic foursome have been pumping out the low stuff as a team for a decade and are recognised in all banding circles as one of the best bass sections around, and one that could walk into any bandroom in the country and hold their own. No specific celebrations are to be held, but it is rumoured they may by asked to possibly take a bow at the bands next concert in recognition of their fine service and dedication to the Army. Well done lads!
