More Xmas player prezzies wanted

Newstead, Foss Dyke and Enderby all would like a player prezzie from Santa.

Newstead Band require:

At the recent Blackpool & West Midlands BBA contests, Newstead Band were delighted to welcome back Dave Tooth on 'temporary principal trombone' covering the vacancy created by Georgina Carter's move 'down south' along with husband Graham (ex principal baritone, principal horn, front row, back row .... not bad in under two years with the band!) following employment relocations. However, the band are still looking to fill this position on a permanent basis and would be keen to hear from experienced players who would like to join this thriving and successful band under the baton of Duncan Beckley. We've had a reasonable contest run this year (4th at area, 2nd in Senior Cup, 1st places at Belvoir entertainments and WMBBA) , some good concerts and a tour to France lined up for April 2003 as well as a growing and successful junior section. Please contact band press officer Mike Allcock at

During the year the band have gone from strength to strength in the Championship Section with an amazing fourth place at the area, second place at the Senior Trophy, first at Belvoir Castle and now 1st and Leamington all from an unsponsered but hard working Band — none of which would have been possible without their enthusiastic and talented conductor Duncan Beckley
Do to work relocations the band are keen to sign a solo trombone player for the New Year — any application in confidence please to telephone Melanie Cooper 01773 748607 or 07970 490773
