The European Champions Yorkshire Building Society have also been busy of late in the recruitment stakes and have welcomed Alex Thomas to the ranks from Besses O’ th’ Barn band. Alex has been playing Principal Cornet with Besses for the past couple of years and with him now studying at Salford University he has taken the opportunity to perform with Dr David Kings main band. He will play Repiano cornet.

Also joining the band are Steve Walsh on 2nd Euphonium, who comes to the band from playing top man at Hepworth, whilst the back row cornets have been substantially strengthened with the arrival from Fodens Richardson of Nick Lees who will play third cornet.
