Carlton Brass attract Lakeside Sponsor

Midlanders attract sponsorship deal.

The Press Release from the band reads as follows:

Carlton Brass end 2003 on a very high note after successfully negotiating a 5 Year sponsorship deal with Nottingham based Lakeside.

The band having enjoyed the last few years continually improving in its musical development, climbing up the sections and achieving some remarkable contests results are looking forward to the New Year with great excitement and anticipation.

January 2004 marks the band’s promotion to the second section and the association with Lakeside couldn’t have come at a better time says Tony Wilson the bands musical director. Carlton Brass has been performing at Lakeside throughout the summer in their magnificent landscaped gardens, and impressive buildings—a fully restored Victorian Pumping Station, originally built in 1873 by the City of Nottingham water department.

Lakeside is part of The Healthworks Co (Notts) Ltd and its business interest focus mainly on leisure facilities. Their prestigious premises offer a range of services: fitness suite and pool, health & beauty, weddings & functions, bar/brasserie/restaurant, conference rooms etc.

Lakeside’s Managing Director — David Bond who enjoys the sound of brass and military bands was very impressed with Carlton Brass, and this sparked off the initial interest in helping the band. David and Tony share the same vision of a brass band playing to audiences in these magnificent grounds and buildings. It really does provide a most idyllic setting for the public to relax and enjoy wonderful music.

Under the arrangements of sponsorship, Carlton Brass will retain its name and the words ‘in association with Lakeside’ will be used in publicity material to promote its new sponsor. Likewise Lakeside will also promote Carlton Brass through its channels of publicity and communication.
David Bond and Tony Wilson see this as a voluntary arrangement to the mutual benefit of both parties. We both sincerely hope this association and partnership will grow stronger and stronger in the years to come.

The band look forward to the new partnership with Lakeside as this will benefit both Carlton Brass and Carlton Brass Training Band.
One of the first priorities will be to invest in new uniforms and outfits for both bands early in the New Year.
