Kippax get a brace for the New Year

Kippax Band are pleased to announce the signing of Fiona Bell on 2nd Horn. This complements the recent addition for the National finals of Joel Dodswoth on Bass Trombone taking over from Keith Fairburn who completed 45 years playing service with the band.

Freckleton Band in search of new additions to the cornet section for the 2003.

The Freckleton Band are on the look out for some new faces. The Press Release from the band reads as follows:

Freckleton have with regret to announce that they will be losing their current Principal Cornet player DAVE BOOTH in the New Year, due to work commitments. Dave will be moving to Kent in January early Feb and will be a major loss to both the cornet section as well as the band. This comes only a few weeks after the band lost PETER DANIELS also from the front row line up of the bands cornet section. Peter like Dave has left the area due to work commitments and is currently working in TAUNTON in Somerset. Peter was also the band's Vice Chairman and he was a true bandsman and will be sadly missed.

We have to try and fill these vacant positions immediately as the band has a busy contest as well as concert schedule in the first part of 2003. The band will be competing in the very competitive Championship section in the North West area as well as being invited to compete in this year's grand Shield in May.

Secretary
