Woodfalls busy, busy, busy

SWT Woodfalls have been dashing all around the place like Rudolph and his friends it seems.

The Parish News Letter from South West Trains Woodfalls Band to 4BR reads as follows:

This Christmas the band will be dashing all over the place, busier than Santa’s reindeers what with village concerts, P&O Cruises, Club concerts and the annual City Hall concert that gets more outrageous every year.

Last year, we had Keith Green’s unresolved did he, didn’t he intend for his trousers to fall down during his baritone solo, "Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town". I don’t know how much that trouser episode had to do with Keith’s travel plans but this year he will be in Switzerland over the Christmas holidays so a degree of decency may be maintained, however, I’m sure there will be a surprise or three along the way.

Next year, is it really 2005?, the band’s first contest will be at Yeovil on 5th February. The band will be conducted, as last year, by Dave Barringer (Bandmaster of The Light Division) who is also lined up to take the band on 12 March at Torquay. Dave has called for an Open Rehearsal at Redlynch Club on Sunday 30th January so watch this space for info.

It only remains now for me to sign off by wishing all our many loyal supporters a happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.
