Eikanger gain financial support

Eikanger-Bjørsvik has been granted financial support from the Arts Council of Norway.

 

The Press Release from the Norwegian band reads as follows:

As the first brass band ever in Norway, Eikanger-Bjørsvik, has been granted support from Arts Council Norway (www.kulturraad.no)

The Arts Council considers Eikanger-Bjørsvik to be a leading ensemble on a high musical level and is in this context compared with professional chamber orchestras, choir and contemporary music ensembles.

The bands highly profiled concert series in Bergen, along with CD recordings and participation at festivals are key elements which the deceision is based upon.

One of the bands main sponsors, the Grieg Foundation, has almost doubled their support for 2005, based on the same reasons.The music audience can look forward to even greater concerts in the year to come.
