Stan no longer The Man at Thoresby

After a fantastic 17 years Stan Lippeatt has ended his association with the Thoresby Band

The Edwinstowe based Thoresby Colliery Band seeks a new Musical Director to commence with immediate effect after the 17 year partnership with Stan Lippeatt ended at Christmas.

The partnership between the band and Stan resulted in many first class performances. During this time the band took the1st Section National Championship title, made a return to regular top level banding at the All England Masters and became the 2003 French Open Champions. Similarly performances on the concert platform were equally well received to capacity audiences at The Royal Concert Hall Nottingham and many other concert venues.

During Stan's tenure, Thoresby performed to the largest ever live audience on 11th September 2003 when they performed for the American Ambassador and Royalty before a world television and radio audience.

The band wish to publicly express their sincere thanks to Stan for the 17 years service he has given to the band and wish him well with his forthcoming operation.

Thoresby have grown from strength to strength with their playing line up over recent years, and are seeking applications from vibrant and innovative conductors to become their Musical Director.

Applications will be considered in strict confidence and should be made by email to John Richardson, email address or by calling Graham Thomas on 01909 472813.
