Sovereign Brass is pleased to announce the signing of experienced percussionist and specialist kit player Brendan Rayner.

Formerly with Jaguar (Coventry) Band, Brendan started his musical career with the Bedfordshire Salvation Army. He has since performed at all the major contests with many of the top bands in the country including Desford, Cory, Black Dyke, First City Brass, Travelsphere and the Leyland Band.

I am happy to be joining Sovereign Brass. I have seen first hand what a quality band they have, particularly in the principal positions and the Band have the potential to compete at the highest levelBrendan Rayner

Brendan said: “I am happy to be joining Sovereign Brass. I have seen first hand what a quality band they have, particularly in the principal positions and the Band have the potential to compete at the highest level. Joining Sovereign has taken a great deal of personal thought. Discussions with the Band management about their immediate and long term plans, including the imminent appointment of a new professional conductor, confirmed I have made the right move. I would wish to thank Dave Lea and the Jaguar Band for their friendship and understanding in making my decision and wish them every success in the future.”

Band spokesman Steve Parsons said, “The appointment of Brendan is a huge positive for the Band. We are sure that the coming year will prove as successful as the last and look forward to the Bands continued progression in defending their title as Midland Area Champions”.
