Melbourne Honours Brass has been created to provide a platform for Victoria's top youth.

PRESS RELEASE

Victoria's newest band has been born.

Expressions of Interest are sought from interested brass & percussion musicians 25 years of age and under in February 2006 to become members of Victoria's newest brass band;

MELBOURNE HONOURS BRASS

It is proposed that auditions will be conducted in Melbourne on March 4th & 5th 2006.

Rehearsals will be conducted on the first Saturday of each month, with the first rehearsal scheduled for Saturday April 29th 2006.

The Musical Advisor & Principal Conductor for the 2006 season will be Mr. Mark Ford B.Ed (Mus)

The Melbourne Honours Brass Charter will be;

VISION STATEMENT
To provide a platform for growth and opportunity for Victoria's top brass band musicians aged 25 and under, to extend their skills and experience and foster their ongoing pursuit of excellence.

MISSION STATEMENT
We will do this by:

1. Enhancing and supporting the musical knowledge and experience provided by the primary musical source &/or band

2. Supporting individual and team developement of musicians through mentoring by leading Victorian brass musicians

3. Striving for musical excellence and a mature, professional outlook in all that we do

4. Providing quality musical opportunities to extend the range of experiences for brass players, percussionists and young conductors

5. Promoting inter-band connections and the formation of a nonpartisan band community
