Final 24 hours for Grimethorpe auction

If you've not put your bid in yet on ebay for that chance to play with Grimethorpe, you've got just over 24 hours to do it as bidding stops at 9pm on Saturday. £340 is the highest bid at the moment.

With the dust barely settled on the ebay auction to conduct the reigning National Champions, Grimethorpe Colliery (UK Coal) Band where the winning bid was a whopping £632, you've now got the opportunity to play with the band.

Amazing opportunity

If the winning bid goes above £400, it means that the two Grimethorpe auctions will have raised over £1000 which will be an unbelievable achievementBob Thompson

Brass Band Aid's Bob Thompson told 4BR 'Its amazing really but having had discussions with Roger and Terry Webster at Grimethorpe, the decision has been taken to run the second 'Grimethorpe Auction' prior to Christmas.'

Bob continued 'This gives somebody the opportunity to purchase that unique gift — how many people get the opportunity with Grimethorpe, the reigning National Champions?'

Finally Bob added 'The bidding has been fantastic but if the winning bid goes above £400, it means that the two Grimethorpe auctions will have raised over £1000 which will be an unbelievable achievement'.

The auction will be run on a similar basis to those run previously with the winning bidder having a year to take part and tickets will be available for friends and family to witness the event.

The current auction started on Wednesday 13th and runs until 9pm on Saturday 23rd December.
