Denham Hendon Brass spent part of their New Year's evening in an unusual manner, entertaining guests of the actor Robert Lindsay and Rosemary Ford at their wedding held in Denham Village.

Lindsay, one of the UK's best known actors has been a regular on our television screens since he made his first impact as Wolfie Smith of the Tooting Popular Front in the BBC comedy 'Citizen Smith' in theearly 1970's.

Euphonium player Martin Smith told 4BR: "We led the guests from the church to the wedding reception playing 'Jingle Bells' and got thoroughly soaked in the rain. The couple wanted a selection of Christmas carols played at the reception and we entertained all their guests including numerous celebrities which included actress Zoe Wannamaker, his on screen wife in the BBC sitcom "My Family"."

Martin added: "Bill Cotton, former head of BBC light entertainment was so engrossed in our playing he spent all our playing time in amongst our bass section!"
