African project

Looking back at 2007 Andy Whitaker told 4BR: "The band has been able to help a number of Charitable Causes during 2007 including a concert for Wakefield Hospice which raised over £500 and a concert for band member Catherine Reid, which raised over £400 towards the cost of helping her travel to Kenya to take part in the building of a New School and Water Supply in a small village."

The concert ended a memorable year for Lofthouse 2000 which included their fourth tour in eight years, this time to France and plans are already underway for their next tour in 2009.

2008 plans

This year they are already taking part in the NABBC Regional Test Piece Workshop at Dobcross on 13th January with Dr. Roy Newsome.

Later in the year they are taking part with Wakefield Little Theatre in a production of ‘Brassed Off’ at Wakefield Theatre Royal before travelling to the Isle of Mann for a special one-off performance. It is also hoped that 2008 will see the band’s first CD.
