Oates gets to captain Blidworth

The experienced Simon Oates is to become the new Musical Director at Blidworth Welfare Band.

Blidworth Welfare Band has announced the appointment of Simon Oates as their new Musical Director.

Experience

Well known and respected as a fine elite level soprano player with the likes of Foss Dyke, Thoresby Colliery and Jaguar Land Rover, he has also successfully conducted Foss Dyke and is currently the associate conductor with Enderby Band.

In addition, the band has also welcomes Dawn Evans on solo baritone after break from banding, and Pete Thornburn who comes in on solo trombone.

We are looking forward to working with Simon and our new players as we work towards the forthcoming Leicester Open contest and the 2018 contesting seasonBand spokesperson
