Results: BBL Brass in Concert

1st Old Boys carry on with their rich vein of form by retaiing their BBL Brass in Concert title.

 

1st Old Boys Band continued their terrific start to 2011 on the weekend when they claimed victory in the Northern Ireland Brass Band League’s ‘Brass in Concert’ Entertainments contest, for a second year running.

Winning margin

The event was held in the Valley Hotel in Fivemiletown, with 1st Old Boys securing a clear three point winning margin over Murley, with Laganvale in third.

The band also picked up the march prize for ‘Imperial Echoes’, whilst the loudest cheer of the day was reserved for Morris Cameron who won the soloist prize playing the Michael Bublé take on ‘Cry Me a River’.

Following on from the excellent results at the BBL Solos and Quartets two weeks ago, it has certainly been a great start to the year for 1st Old Boys4BR

Looking ahead

Following on from the excellent results at the BBL Solos and Quartets two weeks ago, it has certainly been a great start to the year for 1st Old Boys who now look ahead to the BBL Spring Festival in Strabane at the beginning of April.

April 18 • Hoover Band Bolton are seeking a 2nd Euphonium, Bb Bass and a kit player to complete our line-up in this friendly but committed band. We rehearse on Tuesdays & Thursdays 2000-2145 in our own bandroom at the Ukrainian Club in Bolton.


West Midlands Police Band
