Rhondda youngsters make great first impression

The young players of the newly formed Rhondda Fach Youth Band has already made a great first impression with their playing...

Rhondda Fach

Following the recent announcement that the Rhondda based bands of Tylorstown and Ynyshir have joined forces to form the Rhondda Fach Youth Band, it seems they have wasted very little time in notching up their first concert appearance success.

Delighted

The band recently played its inaugural concert at St John’s Church in Porth, where a mixture of festive arrangements and audience participation pieces made a great musical impression on a delighted audience.

Strength to strength

Conductor, Derek Andrews told 4BR: “The players were fantastic — and the enjoyment on their faces said it all.

It’s our belief that this youth band will go from strength to strength under the excellent guidance of our tutors all of whom play for Tylorstown or Ynyshir.”
