Old Silkstone helps create YorkshEire connection in Waterford

The Old Silkstone Band recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to Waterford to take part in the brilliant Spraoi Street Arts Festival

Old Silkstone enjoyed giving concerts in Waterford on the weekend.

Old Silkstone Band have just returned from Ireland after being invited to take part in the International Street Arts Festival — Spraoi

The Yorkshire band performed two very different programmes in their concerts over the weekend; a Disney themed set where they were dressed up as various characters as well as more traditional music and attire.

Band spokesperson Danni Brookes told 4BR: "I can honestly say the weekend we have just enjoyed was absolutely amazing. It's great that these strong friendships are built through music as we all had so much fun and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Spraoi.

We are already getting ideas down on paper to have the City of Waterford Band come over to Barnsley for a concert or two. We can already see our next 'YorkshEire' brass band adventure on the horizon."
