Report & Result: 2018 Borders Entertainment Contest

Annan Town claim the entertainment honours in Innerleithen to claim the Scottish Borders Trophy.

  Annan Town lifted the entertainment silverware at Innerleithen.

The Annan Band emerged as winners of the 18th Borders Entertainment Contest in Innerleithen as they lifted the Scottish Borders Trophy and the Second Section accolade along the way under MD Paul Drury.

It meant that the band also returned to their Dumfries & Galloway base with £250 to their name in prize money.

Excellent set

They excellent entertainment set certainly impressed adjudicators Sandy Smith and Bryan Allen as they managed to repel the strong challenge of runner-up, and entertainment prize winners Broxburn & Livingston Band, with hosts, St. Ronan's Silver in third, as they also claimed the award as the highest placed Borders band.

Defending champion Jedforest had to be content with fourth place in a contest that saw 13 well led competitors provide excellent brass band entertainment
