Elland Silver Band held its own Oscar ceremony in Blackpool recently.
Elland Silver Band has held its annual 'Oscars' awards ceremony — amid the splendour and razzmatazz of their British Open Spring Festival hotel in Blackpool last weekend.
In true Hollywood style, the sealed gold envelopes were opened to reveal the various winners, with George Mitchell (Most Promising Newcomer); Georgia Kirk (Most Improved Under 18) and Thomas Cobham (Most Improved Over 18) taking individual awards, whilst the 'Best Section' went to the delighted tubas.
The prestigious 'Player of the Year' went to Lewis Barton with Samantha Harrison taking the 'Band Person of the Year' accolade.
