Black Dyke has welcomed two new additions to its cornet section

Black Dyke has added two new signings to the ranks following their performance at the Royal Albert Hall on the weekend.

New signings

Jon Hammond comes in on assistant principal cornet with Adam Finch joining on third cornet.

"It's a real privilege to join Black Dyke,"Jon told 4BR. "It's been a lifelong goal of mine to be a part of this amazing band and to do this and be sat between my brother, Tim and Richard Marshall makes it even more special.

I'm really looking forward to working with Prof Childs, but I would like to thank David Roberts and Rothwell Band for their support and friendship over the last 18 years."

Meanwhile, University of Salford post-graduate student Adam has been a regular dep in the cornet section over the past year, and was an obvious choice when a vacancy became available.
