Yorkshire Building Society finish 2004 at the top of the 4BR World Rankings with Scottish Co-op and Reg Vardy (Ever Ready) the only upwardly mobile top ten bands since the last update. Hepworth (Persimmon Homes) move ten places to 15 after their terrific victory in the Scottish Open and Freckleton’s fine showing their moves them up 25 placed to 33.

The Belgian, Swiss, French and Dutch Championships have all taken place since the previous update and bands from these countries have all made significant moves up the table, with Brass Band Rijnmond the highest new entry in the top 200 following their victory in the Dutch Championships. Rijnmond will also have a great chance pick up some serious points when they compete on home ground in the European Championships.

The other events that have taken place since the last update are:-

Leicester BBA—won by Priory Guildford
Wilkinson Open—won by Haydock
Manchester District Open—won by Thoresby Colliery
West Midlands BBA—won by Langley
Northumberland BBA Entertainment—BHK(U.K.) Ltd. Horden
Gloucestershire BBA—won by Derwent Brass
