Russell Gray

Russell Gray, currently down, under sends his festive wishes as he settles into a quiet Christmas and a then looks forward to a busy schedule for the New Year.

His restful Christmas period doesn't last long as on New Years Eve he will be the guest soloist and guest conductor with the Queensland 'Pops' Orchestra during their New Year Concert at the Queensland Performing Art Centre.

December 2006 saw him make his Orchestral debut as a conductor when, on December 2nd, with the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra he conducted a program of Scandinavian Music including Sibelius 2nd Symphony.

Following this success he has been rebooked for a concert in their 2007 schedule and also booked for a concert with the Cambrian Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008.

On the 6th of January his playing skills will be on display when he appears as Guest soloist in the Brisbane City Hall for a New Years benefit concert raising awareness for road safety in Queensland before taking up the baton on the Queensland Youth Band's annual course.

It will not be long before he flies back to the UK landing on the 17th of January in time for a quick trip to Norway and then to prepare Leyland for the Festival of brass concert at the RNCM on Sunday the 28th in the afternoon.
