Xmas divi from the Co-op

Test Valley Brass gain a great Co-op divi in time for Christmas.

Test Valley

The young players from Test Valley Brass and their beginner band 'Frosty’s', are a step closer to raising the £10,000 needed for the purchase of new instruments — thanks to the Co-op.

Christmas Carol

The bands recently put on a brilliant performance to a sell-out audience in Andover of Charles Dickins 'Christmas Carol' — complete with Tiny Tim, the Ghosts of Christmas, Past, Present and Future and even old Scrooge himself.

The bands were joined by a talented young singer, Lucy Bourne who sang a rendition of 'The Fairytale of New York'.

During the evening, the band's received a donation of £350 from avid supporters Dorothy & Brian Page, after Dorothy had recently completed a sponsored walk.

The organisation also received £2,000 from the Co-operative Community Fund Grant scheme, which supports local community, voluntary or self-help groups.

Both sums will go a long way towards the fund raising target of £10,000 and the band are extremely grateful to everyone for their generosity!

MD Alec Grimsey, told 4BR: "We are extremely proud of all our players. Without the support of people like Dorothy and Brian and the Co-operative Community Fund, it would be impossible for us to provide them with continued support, a fantastic education scheme, but most importantly the opportunity to have fun and socialise in a group environment with children of all ages and abilities."
