Foden's media profile grows

Double champions set for another BBC1 appearance as they continue to build a national media profile.

Fodens National trophy

The 2012 ‘Double’ champions Foden’s will be appearing on BBC1 this Christmas, as the profile of the band since its historic victories in Birmingham and London continues to be raised in the national media.

Live

The band will appear live on the Christmas edition of 'North West Tonight' to be broadcast at 6.30pm on Friday 21st December.

Principal cornet Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "This latest invitation from the BBC follows our appearance on the programme after clinching the ‘Double’, as well as our live performance on the Radio 3 'In Tune' programme to an estimated 2 million listeners. The media profile of the band has never been higher."

Price

However, the price of media fame meant that the band has missed out a spot on a new television series featuring comedians Frank Skinner and David Walliams.

The ‘Little Britain’ star pulled out of the series at short notice, leaving the band to miss out on a high profile recording trip to the famous Pinewood Studios.

Requests

However, the band is still getting numerous requests to appear on high profile events.

Mark added: "The invitation to appear on television and radio really does show that bands can gain a national profile if you work hard on reaching out to the right people with a professional product that showcases musical excellence."

Tune in

Viewers outside the North West Region that have access to SKY will still be able to see the band's appearance on channel 958.
