Blackburn & Darwen by candlelight

The Blackburn & Darwen Band has helped raise much needed funds for the Prince's Trust.

Candlelight

The Blackburn & Darwen Band certainly enjoyed their Christmas this year after being invited to perform in 'A Candlelight Christmas' at Blackburn Cathedral (above) in aid of the Prince's Trust.

The all money raised from the event will help support unemployed young people in the North West area get back into work, education and training.

Superb concert

A spokesperson told 4BR: “It was a superb concert — playing to a packed cathedral and sharing the stage with the fabulous ladies of Disford Military Wives Choir, the talented local school choir of Westholme in Blackburn and the well known tenor Russell Watson.”

The band, conducted by Huw Thomas has already received some super feedback, with the famous tenor telling them that they were ‘brilliant’.
