The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association (GBBA) has announced a new venture in their calendar of events with the hosting of their forthcoming Spring Festival of Brass.

Mentor

The event on Sunday 24th April will also be held at a new venue which will also benefit from a warm-up room at the All Saints Academy in Cheltenham. The mentor for the day is the highly experienced conductor and adjudicator Nigel Seaman, with the popular Dave Hayward acting as the compere.

The Festival will commence at 10.00am with the Training/Un-registered Band Section, where the competitor's will provide 20 minute programmes. This will be followed by the Registered Bands.

Although there will be no awards, it is however hoped that bands will enter into the spirit of the day in terms of borrowed playersContest organisers

Entry

Entry is free to GBBA member bands, with a fee of £25 for non GBBA bands. There will be no registration and bands can field a maximum of 40 players.

Although there will be no awards, it is however hoped that bands will enter into the spirit of the day in terms of borrowed players. There will be no prizes/awards presented as this is purely a mentoring event.

Tickets will be £5.00 (free for children) which will include a programme.

Closing date

The closing date is 31st March.
