1st Prize: £1250 plus the Boosey and Hawkes European Trophy and the Champion Band of Europe Plaque.

Every band received a specially engraved plaque commemorating the event.

The winning conductor received a special bound copy of the test piece, "Royal Parks" to mark the occasion.

September 16 • A rare opportunity has arisen to join one of Sheffield's leading bands with a vacancy for an EEb TUBA player to complete our bass section. We have a good band room atmosphere and a calendar of interesting concerts and contests

Yorkshire Imperial Band

September 15 • Players wanted to join our journey back towards the top section. We are seeking a couple of cornet players - Top man is open to the right candidate, but we also need to add quality to our back row team. We rehearse Tue/Thur, 8pm in Gawthorpe nr Ossett.
