The test piece was commissioned for the contest. A pre draw was made for order of play.

The Stanley Boddington Memorial Trophy was presented to the winning conductor, Garry Cutt.

David Read judged the 4BR Best Instrumentalist Prize.
Eric Crees was the tie break judge.

The tie break rule only comes into place after the aggregate scores of the two lower placings are added together.

Therefore, Fodens score is made up as 1st plus 2nd = 3.
YBS had an aggregate score of 4th plus 1st = 5.
The same applies to all other bands with equal scores.

June 21 • GARFORTH BRASS are looking to recruit a SOLO CORNET to complete their 2018 team. Only one rehearsal a week on a Sunday evening from 6.15pm till 7.45pm at Garforth Methodist Church, Church Lane, Garforth, LS25 1NW. Easy access from A1/M1 and Leeds/York.
