Results: Hebden Bridge Heritage weekend

There was a great turn out of bands at Hebden Bridge on the weekend, with Oldham (Lees) taking the top honours.

The Hebden Bridge Heritage weekend and March Contest took place last weekend.

Hebden Bridge Band held the Gala Concert to open the 2009 Heritage Weekend Festival with a varied programme for all to enjoy. This year the guest soloist was the very popular Simone Rebello who was in absolute top form.

Treat

Simone treated the packed audience to some fantastic playing, finishing off with a xylophone duet with one of the band's percussionists, Sam Gardener.

Guest of honour

Guest of honour for the weekend was David Read MBE who thoroughly enjoyed the evening and was looking forward to adjudicating the March and Hymn Contest on the following day.

At 2pm, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the 2nd Annual March and Hymn got underway. 14 bands competed in the event which was very well supported with several hundred people packing in the Town Square to witness a spectacular event.

Chinnor Silver

June 17 • Our COMMUNITY BAND meet again on Monday (22nd) and we welcome players of all standards to join us for a relaxed,friendly rehearsal with Tea and cake and it’s all free.. Rehearsals are at 11am in our own bandroom playing with us does not effect your band.


Longridge Band

June 16 • Longridge Band invite applications for the positions of Flugel and Eb Bass.. We are a friendly and committed band that enjoys a great balance of concerts and contests throughout the year. A contribution to travel expenses are provided.


Harrogate Band

June 15 • After a fantastic result at the Wetherby Drovers Contest, The Harrogate Band are looking for a front row and a back row cornet player to complete the team. Rehearsals Weds 8pm with occasional Sundays at our own bandroom with great transport links
