Danish Blue for the Brighouse two!

Two Brighouse stars to head for Denmark ahead of National championships — but one will miss Open.

Brighouse

Brighouse & Rastrick principals, Michael Howley (Euphonium) and Stephen Wilkinson (Cornet) are jetting off to Copenhagen this week to work with two bands ahead of the forthcoming Danish National Championships.

Leading

Michael and Stephen will deliver masterclasses and lead rehearsals with Brass Band Concord and Brass Band Lyngby-Taarbaek.

Michael will be running a masterclass for the brass section of the Royal Guards Band of Denmark, whilst the pair will also be adjudicating a National Quintet Competition and performing at the Gala Concert.

The band are extremely grateful to Steve Walsh, formerly of the YBS band who will deputise for Michael4BR

Open ommission

Sadly for Brighouse, Michael will not be appearing with the band at the British Open due to work commitments.

John Ingman told 4BR: "The band are extremely grateful to Steve Walsh, formerly of the YBS band who will deputise for Michael. The 'Open will be the eagerly awaited contest debut with the band for professional MD Professor David King."
