Death of Andy Gardiner

The untimely death of Andy Gardner has been announced.

 

The Ratby Co-operative Mid Band has announced the sudden and tragic passing of its principal cornet player, Andy Gardner, on Friday 14th August.

Much loved

Andy was a much loved member of the organisation, also playing with the Senior Band on numerous occasions and supporting his son James in the Junior Band.

He will be well-known to many across the region following time at Jaguar Coventry and Bedworth Bands.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Annette, the children, and their family and friends and at this very difficult time."

At the family's request, the band's forthcoming tour to Rachtig, Germany will continue as planned.

Funeral details

The funeral will take place on Tuesday, 1st September at 2pm at St. Paul's Church, Stockingford, Nuneaton, CV10 8LG to be followed by a private cremation at the Heart of England Crematorium, Nuneaton, CV11 6WZ.
