Boddice takes Scots post

Nigel Boddice has been appointed to the staff at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama has announced the appointment of Nigel Boddice as a lecturer in their Department of Instrumental Performance.

Valued

Nigel, who is well known in the brass band world has been a highly valued member of the part-time staff at the RSAMD for many years as a senior tutor in the brass department, and this enhanced role will enable him to work with a wider remit, predominantly within the brass and conducting departments.

Stable

As well as being involved in the direction and training of several ‘in house’ ensembles, Nigel will also be working with the RSAMD’s growing stable of conducting students and continuing his valuable work as one of the team of trumpet tutors.

One of his first projects will be co-directing the RSAMD Wind Orchestra for a CD of original works by Scottish composers such as Peter Graham, Rory Boyle, Eddie McGuire and Martin DalbyRSAMD

Head of Brass and Instrumental Performance, Bryan Allen, told 4BR: "Nigel joins a dynamic team fronting the RSAMD’s world renowned brass department, and while his new role will involve him almost full time at the RSAMD, it allows for sufficient flexibility for him to continue his important work outside in the real world, so he is still available for bookings!"

Tintwistle Band
