Milwaukee Festival Brass Band is trying to build a brass band culture in the Milwaukee area in the USA, with the promotion of the Milwaukee Festival Youth Brass initiative.

Under the direction of Dr. Patricia Backhaus, the youth brass is a project begun through the High School Apprentice Program (HSAP).

Artists in Residence

All of the band directors in Milwaukee were contacted and in response Milwaukee Festival Brass, now celebrating 25 years of existence, has procured rehearsal space for the MF Youth Brass, and designation as 'Artist in Residence' at the Lincoln Center of the Arts in the city.

Auditions

Auditions were held in May and the band currently has 22 players in the youth brass and will continue to audition throughout the season.
