4BR has been informed that Michael Howley has announced what he calls, his 'enforced departure' from Brighouse & Rastrick.

Michael performed with the band for four years as player, soloist, Committee Member and Band co-ordinator.

Michael told 4BR: "It came as somewhat of a shock. I do not know the reasoning behind the decision and have yet to have any explanation at all."

As Michael reluctantly departs from Brighouse he has taken the opportunity to acknowledge the support he has received from his friends within the band and from the wider banding movement.

"I would also like to thank the bands' supporters and I am very sorry not to be able to continue playing with the band."
