Something new at Old Silkstone

Old Silkstone Band has welcomed a new MD and a host of new players to the ranks.

Old Silkstone Band has announced that Chris Hirst has taken up the position of MD with the band.

Chris has played solo trombone for the past few years and takes over from Alan Exley.

The band has expressed its thanks to Alan for his work and commitment over the past 3 years.

Player signings

The band also welcomes Mark Durham on principal cornet, David Hirst on soprano, Sharon Fallon on flugel, a new trombone section of Mary Golder, Diane Mann and Leo Castro, Tim Power on Percussion and Ian Wooffinden on Eb bass.

Tonya Sugden has joined from Old Silkstone B and Adrian Longbottom returns on baritone. The back row cornet section has been strengthened by the return of Charlotte Bailey and Michele Taylor.
